SPF: how to choose it and how to apply it
Sun protection isn’t only for beach holidays.
- In Spain the sun is strong even in winter; people with fair, thin skin need to be especially careful.
- Make sure the cream protects against UVA and UVB rays: that’s how you prevent premature ageing and sunburn.
- Look at the ingredients, not the pretty bottle, the price or the brand: look for titanium dioxide, zinc oxide and iron oxide.
- Choose the texture for your skin: oily skin — light, fluid textures; dry skin — an SPF with moisturising, caring ingredients.
- Apply it 15–30 minutes before going out and reapply every 2 hours.
- Daily SPF helps protect the skin from photoageing and pigmentation. The most important thing is to choose a product that suits your skin and is comfortable to use every day.
