Deep-cleansing facials: what they solve and what they don’t
“Facials are a waste of money”…? Sometimes, yes — if it hurts, takes hours and you see no results.
- A deep-cleansing facial, step by step: cleanser, toner, peel, a gel to open the pores, ultrasound, manual extraction, a calming mask and SPF cream. The combined facial pairs a device (ultrasound) with manual work and finishes with a peel or a mask.
- Don’t do it at home: manual, mechanical or atraumatic — the specialist chooses the cleanse your skin needs.
- During the facial we work on comedones; inflamed spots are not squeezed out.
- A deep cleanse removes what has already formed in the pores, but it doesn’t stop new spots from appearing. If breakouts come back a few weeks later, it isn’t “just your skin type”: look into the cause with your cosmetologist.
- Afterwards, simple home care: a gentle cleanser, SPF, moisturiser; start gradually and watch how the skin reacts between visits.
- Oily skin is not dehydrated skin. The most common mistake is drying it out: you think your skin is oily, buy harsh products and dry it out for years; the result is a damaged skin barrier, inflammation and sensitivity.
